Check Presentation -- Hospice of Northwest Ohio

Hospice of Northwest Ohio Executive Director Judy Seibenick accepts a check presented by Signature Harley Davidson, on behalf of the Ride for Dignity Committee, on July 21, 2010 at the Perrysburg Hospice Center, 30000 East River Road.

The check represents one-thousand dollars raised for Hospice of Northwest Ohio during the Ride for Dignity, held June 19 in memory of Jackie Paschen, who passed away in the fall of 2009 under the care of Hospice of Northwest Ohio.

Among those attending the check presentation were event organizers George Paschen, Jackie’s husband; Karen Reny, Signature Harley Davidson; Rocky Mattoni, owner of Rocky’s Body Shop; Kevin McCarthy, event emcee and participant and Hospice Development Director Ken Frisch. In addition, Toledo Mayor Mike Bell, who led the group of riders.

More than 60 riders participated in the 50-mile, police escorted ride, which ended at Navy Bistro where riders had a picnic lunch organized by Tom Cousino, for a $5 donation.

Event organizers plan to hold the event again next year and encourage anyone who is interested in participating to look for information after the first of the year. “This year was great and we hope to have more riders next year,” says Rocky.

Hospice of Northwest Ohio cares for more than 2,800 patients each year in their own homes, nursing homes or one of their hospice centers. No one is ever turned away due to an inability to pay.
