Your motorcycle's vehicle identification number (VIN), which is a combination of 17 numbers and letters primarily used to provide a detailed history report, is usually located either below the handlebars along its steering neck or on the bottom close to its cylinders. You should be able to find the VIN on your insurance card too. The VIN is important if you ever plan to sell the motorcycle, as the buyer will want to be able to check if it's been in any serious accidents or has had any significant repair work done.
